The Year of the "SDGs"
On September 27, 2015, 193 Heads of State representing every country on earth signed the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and their 169 specific targets, pledging that the “SDGs” will be implemented fully by 2030. This marked the first time in human history that every country on earth signed the same document. This unprecedented act happened because there is no debate that current lifestyles, business practices and social injustices, combined with a rapidly growing global population will require 1.6x the resources that Planet Earth can provide by 2050. There is no “Planet B” available to deliver unlimited resources. Survival depends upon living sustainably and that means restructuring human way of life to sustainable systems and practices.
WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM - DAVOS SWITZERLAND
The Everywon Global Youth Run
in partnership with the UNGSII Foundation
Everywon is pleased to announce its global partnership with the United Nations Global Sustainability Index Institute (UNGSII) and the launching of the world's first "Global Youth Run" at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland. This ambitious new program is being delivered in connection with two other major UNGSII youth initiatives for 2018; The UNGSII Global Youth Poll and the UNGSII "BrainBreaks" global SDG education program. On October 20th in major global cities on each continent, tens of thousands of children will take to the streets to show their commitment for Sustainability and Physical Fitness, sending a message to all adults everywhere that our planet is theirs to inherit and that when they come of age they would appreciate receiving a planet that remains viable for quality human life. You can learn more about UNGSII on its website at www.ungsii.org.
Further information about The Everywon Global Youth Run, including Host Cities and how to participate will be announced soon.
